On Sunday May 15, Applied Mechanics gathered at Christ Church Neighborhood House for our Spring Community Dinner. Chef Rebecca Wright crafted a tasty menu for the occasion: Spinach and Mushroom Phyllo Squares, Cypriot Lentils and Rice and Lemon Coconut Bars. Our Philly friends, colleagues and extended artist families drifted in from their weekend obligations, hungry, happy and ready to share wine, laughs, and lots of bean art. This edition of community dinner coincided with our live Indiegogo Campaign to crowd-fund our new Fringe show: FEED. In keeping with the theme of the show, we provided dinner attendees with tiny art stations where they could arrange piles of seeds into pictures and designs. As evidenced by the photos, people loved it, and created some amazing art. If you missed the dinner this time, rest assured that we will have another one in the fall.
